<https://www.agricen.com.au/products/basis-xc>In the Southern Highlands of Goulburn, NSW, [Nutrien Ag Solutions](https://www.nutrienagsolutions.com.au/) senior agronomist Jim Colquhoun is working hard to give his clients the best opportunities [to increase production and quality in their pastures](https://www.agricen.com.au/featured-studies/basis/pasture-forage).  Jim uses an array of exclusive technologies from Nutrien Ag Solutions to tailor nutritional programs that not only improve his clients' yields, but also provide them with solid economic benefits.

Some of the products Jim has found to be a good fit in his region include [Awaken](https://www.lovelandagriproducts.com.au/soil-plant-nutrition/foliar-sprays-fertiliser-products/awaken), with its patented zinc ammonium acetate technology, [Basis XC](https://www.agricen.com.au/products/basis-xc), with unique biochemistry that quickly releases nutrients from granular fertilizers, and [ESN Smart Nitrogen](http://www.smartnitrogen.com/), with a flexible polymer coating that only unlocks when the right soil temperature is achieved. With these tools and other technologies, Jim's clients will be better able to meet increasing food demands.

Many of Jim’s clients are extremely pleased with the consistent performance of the products and the strong economic return on investment they are seeing. This is one of the reasons that Jim has concentrated on a holistic, full-season nutritional program.

“*The whole is greater than the sum of its parts, because of all of the synergies between the products*,” says Jim.

[Awaken](https://www.lovelandagriproducts.com.au/soil-plant-nutrition/foliar-sprays-fertiliser-products/awaken) is formulated with zinc ammonium acetate, potassium and an extensive micronutrient package designed to deliver essential nutrients to crops. It can be used to aid in correcting or preventing nutritional deficiencies in a wide range of cropping situations. It can also aid in fast recovery of pastures or fodder crops following a graze or cut.

[Basis XC](https://www.lovelandagriproducts.com.au/soil-plant-nutrition/biocatalysts-fertiliser-treatments/basis-xc) is a fertiliser biocatalyst that is specifically formulated for use with granular fertilisers. It contains concentrated biochemistry that lets growers get more out of their applied P & K fertilisers by increasing nutrient availability and promoting root growth and development.

[ESN Smart Nitrogen](https://smartnitrogen.com/) is a urea granule comprised of 44% nitrogen, contained within a flexible polymer coating.
