## [Foundation & Basis Increase Cotton Yields: Data from New South Wales](https://www.agricen.com.au/blog/basis-foundation-cotton-yields-new-south-wales)

Recent trials from New South Wales show that adding a [fertiliser biocatalyst](https://www.agricen.com.au/agricen-australia-products) to a cotton fertility program increases cotton yields and brings in exceptional return on investment (ROI) for a grower. 

In a trial conducted in Rowena, the grower's standard fertility program was compared to the grower's standard with [Foundation LM](https://www.agricen.com.au/products/foundation-lm) (applied at 5 L/Ha in the furrow at planting). Rows were planted in a solid configuration and the crop was fully irrigated. Despite little difference in development between the control and Foundation-treated crops throughout the season, the addition of Foundation increased yields by 0.64 bales per hectare  (equivalent to a revenue increase of +$320/Ha) when the cotton was ginned.

In the Moree trial, the grower's standard fertility program ([Granulock Z](http://www.incitecpivotfertilisers.com.au/en/Products%20%20%20Services/IPF%20%20Products/Granulock) applied at 80 kg/Ha) was compared to the grower's standard with [Basis](https://www.agricen.com.au/products/basis) alone (applied at 4 L/tonne on the granular fertiliser) or with Basis and [Foundation LM](https://www.agricen.com.au/products/foundation-lm) (applied at 5 L/Ha in the furrow at planting). Rows were planted in a double-skip configuration and the crop was semi-irrigated. At ginning, Basis treatment added 0.42 bales per hectare (equivalent to a revenue increase of +$210/Ha) while Basis plus Foundation added 0.96 bales per hectare (a revenue increase of +$603/Ha).
